Remember!
  • Parade Rest *must* be followed by Attention

  • Present Arms *must* be followed by Order Arms

  • At Ease *must* be followed by Attention

  • Dress Right Dress and Open Ranks *Must* be
    followed by Ready Front

  • During Dress Right Dress, *always* have element
    leaders to the extreme right.

  • *Never* talk during the positions of Attention,
    Parade Rest, or At Ease

  • Project your voice

  • Go over what you are going to do before hand
    in your head

  • Know your stuff

  • And finally….    RELAX!

  • Everyone makes mistakes- just learn from them and we won’t have a problem.  If you’re too afraid of messing up, you probably will.

Command Voice Characteristics
  • Loudness: The volume used in giving commands

  • Projection: The ability of your voice to reach
    whatever distance is desired without undue strain

  • Distinctness: Clear enunciation

  • Inflection: The change in pitch of the voice

  • Snap: The extra voice quality that demands
    immediate response - expresses confidence and
    control
