Promotion 101

​


c/Specialist - 2

  • Nine weeks as a cadet Airman Basic.

  • An 80% in Aerospace Science and Leadership.

  • Zero detentions in AFJROTC

  • 2 hours of AFJROTC community

  • service/extra-curricular activities time on record for the year.

  • 100% on rank identification sample test.

  • Perform facing movements properly.

  • Pledge, understand and write the Cadet Honor Code,

  • Mission, & Core Values.

c/specialist - 3

  • Nine weeks as a cadet Airman.

  • An 80% in Aerospace & Leadership.

  • Zero detentions in AFJROTC

  • 4 hours of AFJROTC community

  • service/extra-curricular activities time on record
    for the year.

  • Identify rank insignias.

  • Know the chain of command

  • Know how to report properly. 

  • Maintain at least a GPA of 2.0 in all courses.

c/specialist - 4

  • Nine weeks as a Cadet Airman First Class.

  • Zero detentions in AFJROTC

  • An 80% in Aerospace Science & Leadership.

  • 6 hours of AFJROTC community

  • service/extra-curricular activities time on record
    for the year.

  • Give proper facing and marching commands to
    another cadet.

  • Demonstrate appropriate reporting procedures.

  • Maintain at least a GPA of 2.0 in all courses.

 

 

c/Sergeant

  • One semester as a Cadet Senior Airman.

  • An 85% in Aerospace Science & Leadership.

  • Zero detentions in school.

  • 8 hours of AFJROTC community

  • service/extra-curricular activities time on record
    for the year.

  • Drill a flight properly with notes (sample of 30
    commands of drill)

  • Maintain at least a GPA of 2.5 in all courses.

C/Technical Sergeant

  • One semester as a cadet Staff Sergeant.

  • An 86% in Aerospace Science & Leadership.

  • 10 hours of AFJROTC community

  • Service/extra-curricular activities time on record
    for the year.

  • Perform open ranks inspection of a flight.

  • Maintain at least a GPA of 2.5 in all courses.

Top Three 

  • On the basis of Merit

  • Recommendation by either the Cadet Group
    Commander, CCC, ASI, or SASI.

  • Review by the Cadet Evaluation/Promotion Board.

  • Maintaining an 85% average in AFJROTC and a
    overall 3.0 GPA.

  • Zero detentions in school.

  • Demonstrate the ability to lead a group in the 30
    commands of drill with no notes.

Cadet Officer

  • On the Basis of Merit.

  • Recommendation by either the Group Corps
    Commander, SEA, ASI, or SASI.

  • Review by the Cadet Evaluation/Promotion Board.

  • Maintaining an 80% average in AFJROTC with a
    3.0 overall GPA.

  • Maintain at least a GPA of 3.0

  • Demonstrate the ability to lead a group in the 30
    Commands.

Reporting In

  1. Knock once and Wait to be acknowledged

  2. When acknowledged enter room and take
    most direct route to highest officer or officer
    in charge, squaring the corners.

  3. Salute and say: Sir/Ma’am, (Name and Rank)
    reporting

  4. Add ‘as ordered’ if you were called

  5. Sir/Ma’am, (name and rank) reporting as ordered.

Reporting Out

  • When Dismissed-

  1. Salute

  2. Take the most direct route out, squaring the
    corners.

​
